GNR police arrested five people on Tuesday after catching them red-handed stealing avocados at separate farms in Faro and Almancil.
The alarm was sounded by the owners of the farms. Around 99 kilos of avocados, worth around €420, were seized as well as two vehicles.
Four of the detainees were to appear before a judge in Faro, while the other was named an ‘arguido’ (official suspect).
