PJ criminal police confiscated 1,300 kg of cocaine and arrested nine people in the Eastern Algarve earlier this week, in what has been considered “the biggest cocaine bust in Europe this year” and “the biggest of the last few years in Portugal”.
The joint operation between PJ’s southern unit and the National Police Corps of Spain began over a year ago, though the authorities have not revealed where their raids took place.
