Polícia Judiciária have confirmed that the blaze in Vila Nova de Gaia’s Conforama furniture store was started on purpose. Proof of arson came after jerrycans filled with petrol were found in the basement, writes Público newspaper. The fire, which began in the early hours of Tuesday morning, was not fully extinguished until 48 hours later. The local council is now seeking to help Conforama rebuild as quickly as possible.
