For young Catholics concerned that the Pope’s health might preclude his visit to World Youth Day in Lisbon in August, two new videos have emerged, showing the Pontiff in very much party mood, ready for Lisbon, showing off his celebration ruck sack, and saying “I have everything with me, because I really want to go…” The Pope does acknowledge his recent health issues, but insists his doctor has cleared him for the trip. Says SIC, he has “reassured the world”. The second video thanks young volunteers for their efforts in supporting the event – starting on August 1 and running until August 6 – which the pontiff appears to believe some did not believe was “viable”.
