Between July 4 and September 5, local businesses will have extended opening hours every Thursday.
Starting tomorrow evening, Portimão’s local businesses will have extended opening hours every Thursday, opening between 18h00 and 22h00, as part of the “Moonlit Thursdays” initiative.
The initiative is promoted by the Portimonense Association of Commerce and Services (APCS) in three key locations in the city centre from July 4 to September 5.
The “Moonlit Thursdays project is supported by the City of Portimão and features thirty-five participating commercial establishments (shops, services, and restaurants) aiming to revitalize the city centre.
The initiative will also include entertainment on Rua Direita, Rua do Comércio and Largo D. João II. Free of access starting at 18h00, the entertainment will showcase various musical genres, ranging from jazz and bossa nova to rock and Portuguese music.
With this project, APCS aims to revitalise the centre of Portimão and stimulate the local economy by promoting spending in its businesses, attracting families and young people.
The “Moonlit Thursdays,” included in the entertainment programme “É Verão, é Portimão” (It’s Summer, it’s Portimão), will kick off this Thursday, July 4, showcasing Portuguese music from the Coro da Aldeia, DJ Ophelia G, and the music of Ben & The Pirates, mixing reggae, ska, rock, and pop.
