Portimão-Bragança air link back in full flight from tomorrow

Operator Sevenair publishes statement over social media

The Portimão-Bragança airlink, dogged by issues for months, will be back in full operation from Friday, operator Sevenair has announced today.

“Tomorrow (Friday), March 21, we will return to our daily air connection activity between Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Cascais and Portimão”, reads a short post, which also says it is now possible to make travel reservations.

The Trás-os-Montes/Algarve route has most recently been interrupted by restrictions imposed by the municipal company Cascais Dinâmica, due to the lack of payment of an alleged debt by Sevenair.

But the issues go back much further, and relate to lack of funding by the government, which only last week announced it was making promised funds available.

The news has led to the payment of the alleged debt, the release of the aircraft that had been ‘impounded’ by Cascais Dinámica since early March, and preparations for the first full flight, from Bragança to Portimão early tomorrow morning. Response over social media has been overwhelmingly positive, as this air link, particularly for businesspeople, is invaluable.
