Maestro Peter Fudge will be leading the orchestra, made up of over 30 musicians
A Christmas concert by the Algarve International Orchestra will be held on Wednesday, December 21 at Portimão Arena in a bid to raise money for a laparoscopy tower for Portimão Hospital.
The concert, which begins at 7.30pm, will feature maestro Peter Fudge leading the orchestra, which is made up of over 30 musicians who will be interpreting some of the most famous Christmas songs known all over the world.
Tickets cost €20 for adults and children aged 13 and older and €10 for children aged six to 12 and can be purchased online.
Half of all proceeds will go towards the purchase of the laparoscopy tower.
As the Resident reported in August, Rotary clubs in the Algarve are making a final push to raise the €100,000 needed to purchase the state-of-the-art medical device, an all-in-one-unit with several medical devices that allow surgeons to carry out invasive procedures guided by a video camera.
You can still donate to the cause even if you are unable to attend the concert.
Donations can be made to the following bank account: Rotary Proj TDL Clubes Algarve, with the following account number (40349777285); IBAN (PT50 0045 7191 40349777285 13) and BIC/SWIFT (CCCMPTPL).
The laparoscopy tower costs around €89,000, plus IVA (part of which will be covered by the hospital).
