Portimão Hotel and Tourism School student wins silver at international competition

Baltasar Santana won the silver medal in the Culinary Arts category of the competition held in Tunisia this November.

Baltasar Santana, a third-year student of the Technical Cooking and Pastry Course at the Portimão Hotel and Tourism School (EHTPTM), won the silver medal in the Culinary Arts category of the international competition organised by EURHODIP—European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools, held in Tunis, Tunisia, this November.

Pedro Moreira, director of the school, highlighted, “The medal won by Baltasar Santana is a reflection of his dedication, talent and the consistent work we have done. This result highlights the impact of training focused on practice, innovation and the integral development of our students, preparing them to stand out on any stage, national or international”.

The proud director added, “It is a source of pride to see one of our students demonstrate that excellence and passion for the profession are the key ingredients to achieving extraordinary results.”

EURHODIP is a tourism association that promotes excellence and innovation through the exchange of knowledge and collaboration between students, teachers, and hospitality and tourism professionals in its competitions.

In addition to Baltasar Santana from EHTPTM, students from the Portuguese Tourism Schools network won six medals in international competitions held this month, including three gold and two bronze.
