The members of the squad who have not departed during the past weeks have opted to remain in Portimão for the remainder of the month, having been given the option to return to their country of origin.
While the club has guaranteed to pay all salaries in full until the end of the season, the players, who are in daily contact with coach Paulo Sérgio via WhatsApp, are spending their brought forward holidays at home until a return to training becomes possible. This is expected to take place in May although officials have stressed that such a move will only be possible once all health concerns have been completely satisfied.
No decision has yet been made by the Portuguese FA as to when and how the current season will be concluded.
