Porto health unit ‘coordinators’ want changes to reformed system

With so many problems emanating from the ‘health service reform’ instigated by the State health service’s ‘executive direction’, coordinators of health centres involved in the ULS (local health unit structure) in Porto have stressed the system “does not serve patients, healthcare professionals or management”. The ULS structure is in its infancy. It was designed to replace the ARS network (regional health authorities) which (adding to the complicated picture), still exists
