Portugal’s FPF (football federation) has announced that it is bidding to organise the 2029 European Women’s Football Championships. President Fernando Gomes announced today that the plan “will be another step towards consolidating women’s football in Portugal”. There have already been two expressions of interest – both of which were defeated by Switzerland in the race to host Euro2025 : the joint candidacy of Denmark and Sweden and that of Poland.
