Portugal chosen for 14th international meeting of police associations

Portugal is hosting the 14th meeting of the International Council for Police Representative Associations – the body representing millions of police officers worldwide – from today until Friday, in Paços de Arcos, Oeiras. According to Armando Ferreira, president of Portugal’s national police union SINAPOL, the meeting with discuss “labour rights, but also matters related to police exchanges and police knowledge”. Portugal’s experiences with the decriminalisation of drug use will also be a hot topic, as may be the struggle, in Portugal, of different police forces to be treated equitably.
