The 2025 Portugal Day (June 10) celebrations will take place in Lagos, extending to the Portuguese community in Macau, as announced by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Writer Lídia Jorge will lead the organising committee.
Lagos last hosted the event in 1996 under President Jorge Sampaio. Mayor Hugo Pereira called the designation an “honour”.
The full program, organised by the Presidency of the Republic, will be revealed later on.
