Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers has agreed to send €30 million towards humanitarian support for displaced Ukrainian refugees living in Poland – the country that has received over a million Ukrainians fleeing the effects of Russia’s invasion. The money is part of a support package already pledged by Portugal (in May) and is needed at a moment when Poland is bracing for a new influx of Ukrainians as conditions in the war-torn country become even more difficult due to freezing temperatures and Ruissia’s destruction of basic infrastructure.
