Portugal to train Ukrainian military in use of combat vehicles

Portugal is to start training Ukrainian military in the use of combat vehicles. The announcement came from defence minister Nuno Melo, who said the country’s availabilty for this purpose “is immediate (…) We already have Ukrainian military personnel being trained in Portugal, in the F-16 universe (…) now also in what has to do with land and combat vehicles, which are a priority,” he told reporters at the end of the first day of an Atlantic Alliance ministerial meeting in Brussels. The signing of the protocol for this new form of training will take place “this afternoon”, said the minister.
