Portugal tumbled its way into the record books on Sunday, clinching its first-ever European Championship win in acrobatic gymnastics. Competing in Luxembourg, the national team dazzled with a total haul of eight medals, including four golds.
The star trio of Alícia Santos, Leonor Carreira, and Ema Fernandes took the spotlight with gold across all three events: balance, dynamic, and all-around, earning the highest score of the competition (29.440).
In the men’s duo, Miguel Lopes and Gonçalo Parreira grabbed gold in the dynamic routine and two bronzes in balance and all-around. Beatriz Carneiro and Inês Faria secured silver in the women’s balance, while Lara Fernandes and Guilherme Henriques added a bronze in the mixed dynamic event.
With a medal tally of four golds, one silver, and three bronzes, Portugal topped the podium, edging out Israel and Ukraine for the European crown.
