Portugal’s prime minister has said that the country will always have its doors open to Ukrainians, stressing that the extension of the temporary protection regime, to be debated in parliament today, is further proof of Portugal’s commitment to Ukraine. Luís Montenegro received representatives of the Ukrainian community in Portugal today at his official residence of São Bento. The draft bill designed to guarantee protection for people displaced by the war is certain to be approved – not least because of the “extraordinary level of integration”, cited by the PM, of Ukrainians who have arrived here.
