Portuguese construction giant Mota-Engil has signed a new contract, worth around €200 million, with Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras for the maintenance and repair of its oil and gas extraction platforms. In a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) today, the Mota-Engil group said that “the new contract, worth around 1.2 billion reais, is for the provision of maintenance and repair services for maritime production units, including platform ships for oil and gas extraction, as well as the supply of materials, will last for 50 months and the activities will be carried out off the Campos Basin, in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. With this contract, Mota-Engil continues to strengthen its presence in Brazil, namely with current strategic clients, as well as increasing its order book in the Latin American region”.
