Portugal’s PM condemns “barbaric” shooting of Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico

Portugal’s prime minister, Luís Montenegro, has condemned today’s “unacceptable and barbaric act of political violence” against his Slovakian counterpart, Robert Fico – who has been critically injured in a shooting outside a cultural community centre in the Slovakian town of Handlova – wishing him a full recovery. Fico was shot in the head and chest. A suspect was identified at the scene and swiftly arrested.
