KATE AND GERRY McCann are learning to speak Portuguese with their new friends in Praia da Luz.
They are being taught informally by people they have met at the local church.
Words like “fé” (faith) and “esperança” (hope) are now part of their vocabulary, while they wait for the day to return the UK with their missing daughter, Madeleine.
