A survey vessel from the Portuguese Navy has been sailing along the Algarve coast since October 7 in a bid to study and obtain more information about the Algarve seabed.
The mission runs until November 3 and is part of the Marine Sediment Mapping programme (SEDMAR) and the OnOff research project, funded by the Science and Technology Foundation.
The project will “contribute to the reconstruction of tsunami events on the continental shelf of the Algarve”.
