Portuguese Navy takes part in NATO exercise in Iceland

The Portuguese Navy has been taking part for the last few days in a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercise in Iceland and the North Atlantic with its frigate D. Francisco de Almeida and 167 soldiers. The Northern Viking exercise (NV24) brings together forces from eight Atlantic Alliance countries – including Portugal, Iceland, the United States of America, Denmark, France, Norway, the Netherlands and Poland – and has been designed to strengthen readiness and the ability to interact between participating countries. It comes to a close tomorrow (September 3).
