Portuguese set for ‘leaner’ Christmas in terms of spending

Portuguese citizens spend a third of their financial outlay on Christmas on food, according to a ‘festive’ study by IPAM (Porto marketing business school), but even so, spending this year is seen as being “leaner” than it was last year, with less presents, and ‘smaller’. The average spending per person on Christmas has been estimated at €392.
