President on official visit to the Netherlands

President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa heads for Amsterdam today for a state visit to the Netherlands, which officially begins tomorrow with a reception by King Willem-Alexander and King Máxima. Marcelo will first be meeting with representatives of the Portuguese community (there are around 28,000 Portuguese resident in the Netherlands, which is Portugal’s 6th preferred emigration destination). On the trip, which lasts until  Wednesday, Marcelo is being accompanied by economy minister Pedro Reis, Secretary of State for European Affairs, Inês Domingos, and representatives of five parties with seats in parliament.
