President sends condolences to South Korea over plane crash

President Marcelo has expressed his sadness over the “devastating consequences” of today’s plane crash at Muan airport in South Korea, which caused the death of 179 people. In a message published on the official website of the presidency Marcelo conveyed  “heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the families of all those who lost their lives and wishes for a speedy recovery of those injured”. The crash of the plane, carrying 181 people, happened at 9.07 local time (00.07 in Portugal) and is believed to have been caused by a combination of bird strike, and adverse weather conditions.
