What seems to have been at least the 3rd separate protest going on in Lisbon today saw supporters of the Casa Para Viver platform ‘auction off Lisbon parishes’ at the entrance to Rossio Metro station today – to raise awareness of property speculation and the difficulties faced by everyday working people in securing a roof over their heads. A larger protest on Portugal’s housing crisis is scheduled for Saturday. Activists stress they want this theme to be carried all through the election campaign, so that politicians listen to the people, and actually do something to improve the dramatic situation.
