Portugal’s PSP police – under fire since the shooting dead of a Cape Verdean father of two in Cova da Moura on Monday – have announced that in the last 24 hours they have arrested 13 people – and identified 18 others – who were involved in the riots that have been taking place since in various areas of the city since the death of Odair Moniz. In a statement made at lunchtime today, the force revealed that between yesterday and today it has arrested three people suspected of theft, four for offences against qualified physical integrity, three for possession of explosive devices and prohibited weapons, one for attempted arson and one for setting off a fire extinguisher and damaging a PSP vehicle.
