Following the media furore and political fall-out of the TAP golden handshake row, the State Prosecution service has opened an inquiry into the legality of the payment at issue (half a million euros to former director Alexandra Reis, who went on to be given a second plum political appointment running NAV, air traffic control entity, before being chosen for a job in government, which she has since lost). The investigation is subject to secrecy of justice, say reports.
