“Preventive investigation” follows “receipt of complaints”
The mud-slinging pre-election campaign has shifted gears today, to target PS secretary general Pedro Nuno Santos.
After weeks of allegations and insinuations over the business dealings, and home conversions of PSD leader and caretaker prime minister Luís Montenegro, the public prosecutor’s office has today conceded that it has also opened a preventive investigation targeting PS secretary-general, Pedro Nuno Santos.
Said a source from the Attorney General’s Office: “Following the receipt of complaints and with a view to gathering evidence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the opening of a preventive investigation”.
For now, that’s it: there are scant further details.
According to “Observador” online, suspicions relate to the acquisition of a property in Lisbon and another in Montemor-o-Novo.
