There is a new restaurant in Quarteira where meat lovers can enjoy an āall-you-can-eatā Brazilian ārodĆzioā experience.
Located on Avenida Infante de Sagres, Sabores do Churrasco Premium opened on Saturday (November 21), serves 15 varieties of meat and is open every day, with menu prices starting at ā¬9.99.
The name will certainly ring a bell to most people living in the Algarve. There are three Sabores do Churrasco restaurants at shopping centres across the region, and another has recently opened in Vale do Lobo.
WOW Foods, the company that owns the restaurants, decided now was the time to invest to counteract the devastating effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the restaurant sector.
āWe wouldnāt have opened a new restaurant if it werenāt for the pandemic,ā explained WOW Foods CEO Rodrigo Nogueira.
āOur business strategy was different, but times of crises also bring opportunities and that is what has happened in Quarteira,ā he told Barlavento newspaper.
Like the new Sabores do Churrasco restaurant in Vale do Lobo, the opening of the Quarteira restaurant was not originally in the companyās plans.
āWe were facing several drops in revenue due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were closed for two or three months and there was a need to create more restaurants which could mitigate the losses,ā said Daniela Nogueira, the companyās administrator.
As she explained, the opening of these new restaurants does not mean the company is immune to the crisis.
āWe are facing the same difficulties as the rest of the sector, but we needed more sources of profit,ā she said.
While it serves a selection of vegetarian, vegan and childrenās meals as well as desserts, Sabores do Churrasco is best known for its Brazilian ārodĆzioā.
Customers can enjoy samples of different meats until they are satisfied.
āWe receive over 270 tons of meat every year and we are very thorough when receiving the meat and serving it. Most of it comes from South America, although some meats are European. Since Rodrigo is Brazilian and has a lot of experience, he selects the meat himself,ā Daniela said.
Meat varieties include chicken, sausage, picanha, rump, bacon, pork, ox, lamb, veal and many more.
āThere is also a great variety of cuts, seasonings and side dishes such as rice, black beans, fried banana and āfarofaā (a traditional Brazilian side dish). And they can all be repeated as many times as the client wants,ā added the CEO.
The restaurant can seat 70 people and has an outdoor area with a capacity for 30 clients. It is open for lunch (12pm to 4pm) and dinner (7pm to 11.45pm).
