Quinta do Lago unveils North Grove

North Grove provides last opportunity to purchase undeveloped land within Quinta do Lago

Quinta do Lago has announced the launch of North Grove, a new development of 13 untouched plots overlooking the resort’s iconic North Course.

In a statement to the press, the resort says this new development marks the final opportunity to purchase undeveloped land within the resort, as part of the original plan established over 50 years ago when Quinta do Lago first opened.

These plots, ranging in size from 1,495 to 1,688 square metres, come without architectural design restrictions, allowing buyers the freedom to “build their dream homes” on up to 20% of the plot area.

The North Grove plots will be sold “exclusively” through Quinta do Lago Real Estate, described by the resort as “the trusted specialist in the Algarve with an impressive portfolio of luxury properties and developments for sale.

“Buyers will have access to unparalleled technical support and regional knowledge, high-quality property management, landscaping, and security services throughout Quinta do Lago, the resort says.

The North Grove plots were put on the market on Thursday, August 1, following “significant demand for additional plots in the resort.”

“With 13 plots located in an enviable position within the resort, facing the North golf course, buyers can build and design their ideal luxury home. For families seeking a primary residence or a second home, plot sizes range from 1,495 to 1,688sqm, with construction areas of up to 20% – resulting in built areas of 299 to 338sqm, plus basement and roof areas. All plots are intended for private, detached villas with two storeys, without architectural design restrictions – whether contemporary or traditional. Each plot includes an additional land area, functioning as an extension of the garden, attracting buyers looking for exclusive and sophisticated villas. These properties offer privacy combined with easy access to all the high-standard facilities and amenities of the resort,” Quinta do Lago explains.

Meanwhile, Quinta do Lago CEO, Sean Moriarty, has provided further insight into the launch of the new development.

“The launch of North Grove follows significant demand for undeveloped land plots in our resort – and many have been waiting for this moment since they missed out on the San Lorenzo North plots in 2019. Despite the ongoing demand, we always release our plots gradually according to our base plan, which allows us to preserve our natural environment. North Grove will appeal to both developers and primary and secondary home buyers – as they receive total autonomy to build and design their own luxury property in one of the most sought-after regions in Europe. Each untouched plot can be fully adapted to the buyer’s lifestyle and will be surrounded by natural beauty, with all the resort’s amenities at their fingertips,” the CEO said.

“We continue to see significant changes in our buyer demographics, now appealing to a much younger audience – with an interest in sustainability and a desire to live an active lifestyle. Our dominant market remains the UK and Ireland, but many national buyers are now purchasing properties here, and we are also seeing an increase in demand from the USA. The Campus, the resort’s multi-sport complex, also contributes to this change,” Moriarty added.

Alongside its real estate sector, Quinta do Lago have invested more than €60 million  in the resort over the past decade to “continue offering innovative and high-quality products to our visitors and residents that meet their demands.

“Along with the launch of The Campus, The Magnolia Hotel, and the UMAMI Restaurant, we are always updating our current offerings – with the latest renovations underway at our lakeside seafood restaurant, Casa do Lago, our famous South golf course, Gigi’s Bar, and our Clubhouse. In 2023, we also inaugurated two new indoor padel courts at The Campus and completed renovations at our oldest typically Portuguese restaurant, Casa Velha. This year we expect to launch our new Pilates Reformative studio,” Moriarty revealed.
