ENGLAND’S RUGBY World Cup preparations got under way with an unprecedented 62-5 humiliation of Wales at Twickenham over the weekend.
Number eight Nick Easter led the nine-try rout with four of his own, prompting the 66,000 fans to return home with high expectations for the sport’s summit in France barely four weeks away. It must be said, however, that the hapless victims probably fielded the worst side ever to journey south, bristling with second and third-choice players.
