The intervention, starting today and lasting for 30 days, involves partially closing a short section of the walkways.
Starting this afternoon, May 13, the Municipality of Portimão will carry out a small intervention in the area of the Ria de Alvor walkways, which show signs of collapse. This will aim to improve the access conditions.
The repair work, which is estimated to take 30 days to complete, involves partially closing a small section next to the Ria, duly marked on site.
Other specific interventions are planned along the entire length of the walkways. These aim to maintain optimal conditions for the thousands of residents and visitors who use them throughout the year, ensuring a pleasant, easy, and relaxing experience while exploring the Ria’s biodiversity.
The Ria de Alvor walkways have a total length of 6 km. They are an essential component of the “Ao Sabor da Maré” nature trail, which includes wooden walkways and dirt trails that non-invasively cross marshes, small lagoons, and sections of the dune ranges within this diverse ecosystem.
