Arvad launches a new experience and its first sparkling wine just in time for the new season.
The start of Autumn not only celebrates the end of the harvest at Arvad but also the launch of a new wine tourism experience and a special new wine. The Silves winery is famous for its spectacular summer Sunset Sessions, picnics among the wines and delicious wine tastings with a view of the Arade River. Adding to this portfolio of exquisite activities is the new lunch experience at the Casa do Rio on the estate’s riverside deck.
These were created to complement the wine tourism offer of this family project that aims to promote not only the region and its experiences but also the Negra Mole grape variety. Native to the Algarve and the second oldest in Portugal, this grape variety is also one of Arvad’s brand images.
Organised exclusively for private groups, these riverside lunches in a unique location were launched just this month. Available by appointment only and for groups of up to 20 diners, the lunches offer “a private environment in full communion with nature, with an emphasis on Algarve cuisine paired with wines aged in the cellar at the top of the hill”.

Set around a large cataplana, the lunches include three moments: the starter, a cooking exhibition as the chef prepares the main course, and a regional dessert with coffee, in addition to the pairing with three Arvad wines to accompany each moment.
Ideal for birthday celebrations, special lunches with friends or small corporate events, the lunches at Casa do Rio begin with the guests’ arrival by boat at the Casa do Rio deck (additional service) or at the Arvad winery, from which guests are then taken to the deck, on a pleasant buggy drive across the vineyards and the floodplain.
This experience must be booked via email (bookings@arvad.pt) and cost from €80 per person. It can also be complemented with other options, such as a boat trip or live music (not included in the price).
Arvad proudly presents its first sparkling wine
Arvad has just added its first sparkling wine to its portfolio, a fresh new product with sophisticated notes and delicate bubbles. Made using the traditional Champenoise method, Arvad’s sparkling wine aged a year in clay amphora and then underwent a second fermentation in the bottle, through which the decomposition of the yeasts gave it a delicate brioche aroma.
This elegant single-varietal Arinto sparkling wine is made using the free-run juice of the handpicked pressed bunches. Its bubbles are delicate and refined, offering a pleasant sensation on the palate. In the mouth, it is fresh, with citrus notes and hints of pastry, and it reveals a well-balanced, crisp acidity with a persistently long finish.
Arvad’s new sparkling wine can be purchased at the winery shop and costs €19.50.
