Loulé town hall has replaced one of the pieces of sculpture stolen from “Carimbo de Emigração” (Emigration Stamp) – the work that stands on the roundabout at Jardim de Comunidades in Almancil. The full sculpture, by Belgian Francis Tondeur, has thus been returned to its former glory. “Carimbo de Emigração” is considered the “identity card” of the town, as so many of its citizens have moved to other countries to make new lives, while foreigners have alighted here to do the same.
