Searches have resumed for a second day following the disappearance of an Italian man while out walking in Foz do Douro, with friends, on Saturday afternoon.
According to the friends, the 36-year-old left them to walk along the pier, and was suddenly swept off it and into the water by a wave.
Today, four boats, one Air Force plane and various teams of firefighters and maritime police will be scouring an area of 4 nautical miles around Foz do Douro in the hope of finding a body.
