Portugal’s Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, travelled to the Algarve to meet with the regional hotelier association (AHETA) in Albufeira last week.
The meeting was followed by visits to local hotels, which focused on matters such as hotel renovations, sustainability and the use of individual desalination plants at tourist establishments.
According to AHETA, the visit also served to leave an “open channel of cooperation” between the association and the secretary of state.
