Seven GNR agents sustained injuries over the weekend as a result of a high-speed car chase involving “dangerous manoeuvres”. A stolen car, in which three people were travelling, tried to outrun police in Marco de Canveses – racing towards Entre-os-Rios in Penafiel, where it was finally brought to a halt after crashing into a barrier created by police vehicles. During the intervening kilometers, at least two other police cars were damaged. The three people have been arrested and held in preventive custody pending judicial questioning.
