Sex toys: a new twist to Luso-Brazilian twins favoritism row

With President Marcelo’s son Nuno today due to face MPs on the parliamentary commission trying to get to the bottom of the favoritism row, centring on the €4 million treatment (by the Portuguese state) of Luso-Brazilian babies, a new twist has entered the picture: Daniela Martins, the children’s mother, used to be a shareholder in a business in Mortágua, near Viseu, that marketed “erotic cosmetics and products over the Internet”. According to magazine Tal&Qual, Martins managed the company that “sold vibrators, lingerie and aphrodisiac products” between 2017 and 2022, but she pulled out “due to losses”. From one minute to the next, the story has lurched further into the realms of ridiculousness.
