Sharing Education Group opens its first school in the Algarve

Eupheus International School will start operating under the name Bright International School, starting next school year. The Cambridge International Curriculum is available from Pre-Reception to Year 9 and admissions are now open.

Eupheus International School is the newest member of the Sharing Education Group’s network of international schools and will transition its name to Bright International School Algarve from the next school year.

Located in Loulé, the school began operations in 2019, establishing itself as a cornerstone in the region. The Sharing Education Group aims to elevate its already strong foundation to greater heights.

In line with the Group’s vision, this rebranding and official transition to the new name reflects the school’s dedication to fostering a bright and inspirational atmosphere for students, faculty, parents, and the broader community. It underscores a commitment to delivering an innovative educational experience that inspires and empowers its community, creating memories along their educational journey that will last a lifetime.

“We have planned several improvements for Bright International School, focused on three fundamental areas – academic improvement, investment in infrastructure (for sports, arts, science, music and media laboratories) and the creation of Sports and Performing Arts programmes. Simultaneously, the investment we have planned for the three buildings’ renovations will allow us to increase our student capacity, as well as adopt an innovative working and learning environment,” says Miguel Ladeira Santos, Group CEO.

“Sharing Education Group schools provide the best educational experience for our students, acknowledging that every child is different and unique,” he adds.

Bright International School Algarve is prepared to cultivate the next generation of leaders, equipped to accommodate students ranging from young learners (ages 3-5) to primary students (ages 5-11) and lower secondary students (ages 11-14).

Operating with the Cambridge International Curriculum, the school aims to instil the Cambridge five key learner attributes: confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged; fostering students’ soft skills while offering a holistic approach to cognitive and non-cognitive skill development.

To follow this process and carry out the pedagogical coordination of the project, Bright International School Algarve will benefit from the expertise of Tom Caston.

Mr. Caston comes from the MPW Cambridge Group of British schools, with an extensive experience in leading Cambridge International Curriculum schools. His appointment underscores the school’s commitment to maintaining high standards of educational leadership and ensuring the effective implementation of the curriculum.

Mr. Caston’s background in managing similar educational initiatives positions him well to contribute to the success and development of Bright International School Algarve, aligning its practices with the rigorous standards of the Cambridge curriculum.

Bright International School Algarve joins the other two schools from Sharing Education Group: International Sharing School Madeira, which will have a new address from the next academic year, including a residential area for students, teachers, researchers and digital nomads, and which already has more than 250 students from more than 30 nationalities; and International Sharing School Taguspark, integrated into the largest Portuguese science and technology park, in Oeiras Valley, which already has more than 700 students from more than 60 nationalities and is also expanding its current campus.

The Sharing Education Group, managed by the Ladeira Santos family from Madeira Island, currently operates three international schools located in Madeira, Lisbon, and now Algarve. With approximately 1,200 students across these three institutions, the group has garnered recognition for its organic teaching approach, which emphasises respect for each student’s individual needs.

This approach has received several awards in recent years, including a nomination as one of the top 10 Must-Watch International Schools in Europe by the International Advisory Board of K12 Digest Magazine, which comprises specialists from the education sector worldwide.

Notably, the educational establishments under the Sharing Education Group’s umbrella are the only international schools operating in Portugal that integrate children from four months to 18 years old.

Admissions for the Academic Year 2024/2025 are now open. For more information, please visit www.bright-is.com
