The Norwegian Jazz singer will team up with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra for three concerts between September 29 and October 24.
Algarve All Jazz ’24, the third edition of the Algarve Jazz Orchestra’s premium project, will feature Norwegian singer Silje Nergaard as its guest performer. Deemed one of the most unmissable voices in European Jazz in recent decades, the singer will perform three concerts over the next few weeks.
The first is already this weekend, on September 29, it will be a matinée starting at 17h00 at Loulé’s Cineteatro Louletano. The second takes place in Lagoa’s Carlos do Carmo Auditorium at 19h00 on October 19, and the third on October 24 at 21h30 at the Cultural Centre in Lagos.
With a career spanning over 30 years and beginning when the singer was just 16, Silje Nergaard has already released 16 albums and received an enviable number of awards. A pioneer in her work, she created a different sound where the softness of her voice and style are predominant.
Her relationship with the Algarve Jazz Orchestras started several years back. She has also collaborated with the Metropole Orchestra (Netherlands), which earned her a Grammy nomination, and with WDR, one of the largest Jazz Orchestras in Europe (Germany).
In this edition of Algarve All Jazz, she will present a repertoire of her original work.
