Two car crashes on the Algarve’s EN125 road in Tavira and Faro left six people injured – four of them seriously – on Wednesday afternoon (July 6).
The first accident happened in Patacão near Faro at around 1.30pm.
According to Correio da Manhã tabloid, the crash left one of the drivers with injuries and affected traffic for over an hour.
The most serious crash happened around an hour later in Livramento, Tavira and involved two cars.
One of the drivers apparently “did not respect a stop sign” when merging onto the EN125. The other driver was unable to stop in time, and the two vehicles crashed violently. One of them even overturned.
Five people were injured, including three men and two women aged between 29 and 50. Four sustained “serious injuries to the cranium and back”. They were all taken to Faro Hospital.
These accidents follow a tragic hit-and-run on the EN125 last weekend (click here), which claimed the life of a 41-year-old Portuguese woman.
