A SOUTH Korean Court has awarded an ex-soldier the right to claim benefits, after he developed a parasitic infection from eating raw snakes during survival training 30 years ago.
His symptoms began four years ago, with stomach pains, which then spread to his legs. He underwent operations and following the ruling, he will be able to receive special benefits, usually reserved for those who have sacrificed for the country.
