Portugal’s department of Social Security has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into an “intentional and malicious intrusion” into the system that took place (no-one can be sure quite when), but which appears not to have compromised any data of citizens or of businesses. The ‘hack’ was first ‘noticed’ on Monday (November 21). Since then ‘diligences’ have taken place in strict collaboration with the national centre for cybersecurity, the Judicial Police (PJ) and cybersecurity specialists.
