As former PM José Sócrates faces the New Year in jail, newspapers report “bewilderment” in political circles as Socialist leader António Costa fails to make the visit he promised he would be making to Évora jail “during the Christmas holidays”.
The festive period is now drawing to a close, thus bets are on as to when Costa will be driving up to the prison gates, if at all.
