Spanish hotel chain takes over VRSA’s five-star Grand House Algarve

Bordoy Hotels has taken over Grand House Algarve, located in Vila Real de Santo António

Bordoy Hotels, a prominent hotel chain from Mallorca, has taken its first step outside of Spain with the acquisition of the Grand House Algarve, a luxurious five-star hotel located in Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal.

The acquisition, announced on April 23 by Spanish news outlet Hosteltur, marks a significant milestone for Bordoy Hotels, which now adds Portugal to its growing portfolio, bringing the total number of its properties to nine, with 789 rooms.

The Grand House Algarve is described on its website as a “stunning Belle Époque hotel,” offering 31 exclusive rooms, including suites and villas. One of the standout features of the hotel is the Grand Beach Club, situated at the mouth of the Guadiana River.

This acquisition represents Bordoy Hotels’ first move beyond Spain, where the group already operates seven hotels on the island of Mallorca, including the Bordoy Alcudia Port Suites, Bordoy Continental Palma, Bordoy Cosmopolitan, Bordoy Mostatxins, Bordoy Continental Valldemossa, Bordoy Don Antonio, and Bordoy Alcudia Bay. Additionally, the group owns a boutique hotel in Menorca, Bordoy Casa Ládico.
