Spanish petrol company Petroprix wants to open 50 petrol stations in Portugal by 2026, with a total investment of €25 million, to take advantage of “a clear opportunity in the Portuguese fuel market”, the company has told Lusa. With three petrol stations in operation (Águeda, Covilhã and Matosinhos), Petroprix’s expansion plan in Portugal is to open twenty new stations next year, prioritising “the north and interior of the country, with a progressive expansion to Greater Lisbon and the south”. As an official source has explained, “consumers are increasingly sensitive to price and the low-cost model, and Petroprix has the tools to offer a high-quality service at the best price”.
