Spanish police arrest man convicted of two murders in Portugal

Spanish motorway police chanced upon a man today, in a routine ‘stop’ operation, who has an international arrest warrant, taken out by Portugal, for fleeing the country following conviction on two counts of murder. The man almost got away (trying to escape from police, after they found drugs in the car he was travelling in). It was subsequently discovered that he has been using up to six identities to evade detection. There is also a prohibition on him travelling in Schengen Space, issued by authorities in France. For now, the man is in preventive custody, along with another occupant of the car which was found to have been transporting two kilos of heroin.
