A 16-year-old Spanish surfer had to be rescued on Saturday afternoon after he crashed into rocks due to the strong winds and waves between the Monte Clérigo and Amoreira beaches in Aljezur.
The youngster, who was able to hold on to the rocks, was pulled out of the water by local firefighters.
He sustained minor injuries and received medical care on the spot.
