April events include a walk in Lagos and lawn bowls in Alvor
March 17 is St Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national day, and to celebrate the occasion, the St Patrick’s Society of the Algarve hosted a dinner dance in the Jupiter Algarve Hotel in Praia da Rocha, Portimão, on Friday, March 15.
Sixty-nine members and guests attended the event and enjoyed a successful night.
“A lovely buffet dinner was provided by Nelson and his attentive staff who kept the wine flowing freely throughout the evening,” said a spokesperson for the Society.
The entertainment was supplied by Vítor who played a selection of songs which had everyone on the dancefloor after the meal.
A raffle for the Madrugada charity, organised by Teresa Ferreira, raised €370.
The next Society outing will be a walk and lunch on Saturday, April 6, starting from the carpark in front of the Palmares Beach Club (Meia Praia Beach, Lagos) on the M534, at 10am. For further details, contact Dermot on email dburke.mrobinson@gmail.com
